Museum of Cathedral in Ragusa
The Museum of the Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista is set up on the noble floor of Palazzo Garofalo and houses the material testimonies and the historical memory of the parish of San Giovanni Battista.
The exhibition is divided into eight rooms retracing the sacred history from the pre-earthquake period up to the establishment of the diocese of Ragusa in 1950, but also focusing attention on the ancient cult of the patron saint St. John.
A section is reserved for the exhibition Sicily Antiqua , characterized by ancient prints and engravings of inestimable value, datable between 1500 and 1800 and owned by the Cesare and Doris Zipelli Foundation.
