Arezzo di Trefiletti Palace in Ragusa
The Palazzo Arezzo di Trifiletti in Ragusa is one of the most beautiful historic noble residences in the city. It was built following the earthquake of 1693, which destroyed most of the cities of south-eastern Sicily, and completed in the mid-nineteenth century. The large entrance hall and the courtyard are dominated by a precious asphaltic stone portal. The portal is surmounted by the family crest.
Inside there are splendid lounges furnished with period furniture: the large ballroom paved with hand-painted majolica; today's dining room characterized by splendid decorations on the ceiling; the yellow living room with its original pitch stone flooring where precious ceramic tiles are set.
