Kamarina Archaeological Museum
The Archaeological Museum of Kamarina illustrates the political, civil and economic history of the city of Kamarina. Inside the museum are exhibited the remains of the most important monuments of the city and the material and artistic production found during the excavations conducted in the archaeological area of Kamarina.
The museum is housed in a rural building of the late nineteenth century, a significant example of an agricultural residential typology widespread in the Iblean coastal strip. The building is divided into several buildings organized around a central space open on two sides towards the countryside, and insists on the site of the acropolis where the temple of Athena stood, whose remains are still visible inside one of the rooms of the museum.
