Rock Museum Rutta ri Ron Carmelu in Scicli

The Museum "A Rutta di Ron Carmelu" , or rather "The cave of Don Carmelo", is a cave located among the suggestive alleys of Chiafura in Scicli . The cave is set up to illustrate rock dwelling, "poor living". The museum shows how the dwellings in the caves were set up: stone walls and rock floors, the kitchen made with two parallel stones and two cross irons, the straw bed, no electricity and no running water. As the family grew, the wall was dug more and more to accommodate the new children. In "A Rutta di Ron Carmelu" there is also a small handcrafted nativity scene made by the owner.
