Ancient Power Station of Vittoria
The Former Comiso Power Plant is an example of industrial archeology. The structure is located in a monumental backdrop made up of the oldest buildings in the city overlooking the Ippari Valley.
The ancient power plant was born in 1902 within the area of the former monastery of Santa Teresa, next to the buildings of the ancient castle and the ancient Magazzini del Conte.
Today an exhibition space on two levels has been created inside the structure, Mazzone room, dedicated to greatest Victorian painter of the nineteenth century. The Mazzone room hosts conferences, concerts and art exhibitions.
