Civic Museum of Vittoria
The Castello Colonna Henriquez Civic Museum, also known as the Polyvalent Civic Museum of Vittoria, named after professor Virgilio Lavore, is housed in the premises of the Colonna Heriquez Castle.
All inside the Castello Colonna Henriquez Civic Museum it is possible to visit most of the historical premises, which were once the residence of the local barons and were later used as prisons.
Among the objects exhibited in the museum of of particular interest is a beautiful Sicilian Cart and many ancient tools and machinery that still reproduce sound effects today.
There is also a ornithological exhibition, and a room dedicated to Giuseppe Mazzone, a local artist who has embellished many historic buildings in the city with his frescoes.
