Church of Santa Maria di Gesù in Bisacquino
Church of S. Maria di Gesù, founded in 1687, is the place where a miraculous image painted on a slate blackboard plate of the mother of Jesus is venerated.
According to tradition, this image was brought by Fra Innocenzo di Chiusa from his native country; arrived at the very tired place he wanted to drink and rest at the fountain. From various signs he understood that the Madonna would have preferred to remain in that place, where, later, she worked many miracles.
