Garibaldi Theater in Mazara del Vallo
The Theater of Mazara del Vallo , named after Giuseppe Garibaldi , was built following the revolutionary uprisings of 1848.
The building consists of an iron hall of horse, with a small entrance with access to two staircases that lead to a double order of boxes and to the gallery. Small in size, with no decorations on the outside, it has an intimate and extremely suggestive atmosphere inside. The use of poor materials is evident, in particular the wood recovered from boat planking, contrasted by the abundance of friezes and rich decorations and pictorial solutions that closely recall the tradition of Sicilian wagons.
Today the theater hosts plays of prose, opera and operetta, in an environment of sure impact.
