Murano Glass Nativity Scene in Poggioreale
The Poggioreale Murano Glass Nativity is placed on permanent display in a small post-modern building designed by the architects Purini and Thermes, located behind Piazza Elimo, with large windows that allow the view also from 'exterior.
The nativity scene is made up of seventeen figures ranging in size from thirty to ninety centimeters. Each character was created on sketches created by Pippo Madè from Palermo in the Murano glass factories with the “flying hand” technique, which through different types of fusion for each single piece allows to obtain particular chromatic effects.
