Paruta Square in Salaparuta

Piazza Paruta in Salaparuta, designed by the architect Antonello Sotgia, is the most important place of aggregation and social meeting in the city. The multi-purpose center is particularly important, where conferences, exhibitions and various events are held.
At the entrance to the room, on the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the earthquake, a statue by the sculptor Zora was placed. In front of the square there is a permanent stone nativity scene, made by skilled local craftsmen.
On Viale Leopardi it was rebuilt as a memory of the industriousness of the ancient destroyed city, part of the arched structure of the Scaminaci mill that once stood in old Salaparuta, along the road to Gibellina.
