Mother Church of Salemi
The current Mother Church of Salemi, dedicated to San Nicola, has become the main place of worship in the city after the 1968 earthquake destroyed the old Mother Church of the city .
The church has a Baroque style facade enriched by tuff columns. Inside, a Civic Museum has been set up which collects religious works saved from the earthquake. Of particular value, among the works kept in the church, is the eighteenth-century organ.
