Museum of the Memory of Santa Margherita del Belice
The Museum of the Memory of Santa Margherita del Belice aims to reconstruct, preserve and communicate the civil memory of the Belice Valley in the period of the earthquake of 15 January 1968. The museum is located in the former Mother Church of Santa Margherita, destroyed by the earthquake of 1968 and rebuilt to house the museum.
The museum exhibits various photographic material, mostly from archives and private collections, audio-video images, collections of newspapers and magazines of the time. The visit ends with a multimedia room in which a series of videos illustrating the history of the Belìce Valley from before the earthquake to the present day is projected.
