Museum of the Stronghold in Augusta
The Augusta Fortress Museum, located on the ground floor of the Augusta Town Hall, houses relics of military history and the history of the city of Augusta.
The exhibition space is divided into three rooms:
The Hall of Tombstones in which various finds are exhibited including tombstones, weapons and prints that retrace the military events that followed in the Fortress up to the Italo-Turkish war of 1911-1912.
The Aeronavale Room which collects various memorabilia relating to the aeronautical activity of Augusta which took place in particularly between 1917 and 1958, including episodes from the Second World War.
The Sala della Armi which exhibits a collection of individual Italian, British and German weapons, as well as cannons and accoutrements, Italian uniforms and headgear.
