Beach of the Sbarcatore dei Turchi in Augusta

The Sbarcatore dei Turchi beach in Augusta is a wild and unspoilt stretch of coast.
High rocks enclose a mirror of crystalline water with the islet of the Sbarcatore in the center.
This place owes its name to the fact that it was once one of the favorite landing places for Saracen pirates, the "Turks" who on several occasions tried to invade Augsburg. Several episodes of these landings are still told today.
Access to the beach is steep and not suitable for the elderly and children, the cliff is smooth and has two accesses to the sea.
