Coniglio Palace in Avola
Palazzo Coniglio in Avola is a splendid palace in Baroque style.
It was built in the eighteenth century and was the residence of a noble family from Avola.
The façade, divided into two orders by a crenellated entablature, presents a large central portal decorated with fine bas-reliefs. The heraldic coat of arms of the noble family stands out.
Of particular value is the balcony, considered the third most beautiful baroque balcony in the Province of Syracuse, after that of Palazzo Iudica in Palazzolo Acreide and Palazzo Nicolaci in Noto. The peculiarity of this balcony, which does not have sculptural decorations of particular value, is the refined and precious wrought iron railing with floral garlands of notable artistic value.
