The Church of San Sebastiano in Buscemi is inserted in the center of the town and is aligned with the Church of San Giacomo and raised to obtain an effect of momentum.
The original structure suffered serious damage during the earthquake of 1693. The church it was thus rebuilt in the same place but, for unknown reasons, there was a second collapse of the facade. This led to very long reconstruction times: the second order bears the date of 1906.
The church stands on a small terrace enclosed by a wrought iron gate guarded by two stone lions. The rectilinear facade consists of a single order of slightly projecting pilasters, surmounted by a three-mullioned tympanum loggia.
The church remains closed to the public and cannot be visited inside.
