Museum I Luoghi del Lavoro Contadino in Buscemi
The ecomuseum The Places of Farmer's Work is a museum distributed throughout the Buscemi area that accompanies visitors to discover the places of farmer's work.
The itinerary includes the Documentation Center of Hyblean Popular Life, and nine museum units in which the rooms of the time are reproduced with original furnishings, tools and clothes.
They make up the grounds of the museum itinerary: the millstone where the the pressing of the grapes; the coppersmith's shop, the oil mill, the shoemaker's shop; the workshop of the jugsmith; the Santa Lucia water mill, which is located in the Valle dei Mulini in the territory of Palazzolo Acreide, which is a few kilometers away; the putia ro firraru, i.e. the blacksmith's shop located in an artificial cave where the old blacksmith and his typical tools such as the forge, anvil, tools for modeling are found; the casa ro massaru, typical home of the small landowner of the area, expression of the middle class of the peasant world of eastern Sicily. The interior includes four rooms: the entrance, the kitchen where a stone hearth is kept, the tannura, the weaving room, the ro tilaru room, where it is possible to watch the working cycle on the loom and the bedroom with the large double bed and a very special cradle hanging from the ceiling, the naca, the clothes and the dowry brought by the bride; the laborer's house, ro iurnataru>em>, a room of a few square meters where up to six people lived; The putia ro falignami, i.e. the carpenter's workshop, which houses the carpenter's traditional work tools.
