Palazzo Ajello in Canicattini Bagni is a narrow Art Nouveau building considered a small architectural jewel.
The palace is so called because it is perhaps the most representative work of Santo Aiello, one of the best stonemasons of Canicattini Bagni, who he created the decorations of numerous house facades but also had great fame outside the local area.
The building, only four meters wide, is a fine example of how the functionality of the house coexists with the rich decoration. On the ground floor, in fact, the artist created a sinuous frame in such a way that one side of the window was the continuation of the architrave of the door. This construction design gives the facade an effect of movement but at the same time guarantees the presence of a large window.
The second floor has two round arches of classical style, which however is perfectly integrated with the lower floor.
