Holy Family Church of Cassibile
The Church of the Holy Family of Cassibile, also known as the Church of the Marquis Loffredo di Cassibile, is the oldest church in the city.
It was commissioned by the Marquis Loffredo and dedicated to the Holy Family, and was inaugurated in 1870.
The facade consists of a large central door and two smaller side doors. At the top there are two balconies and two large bells.
Inside the church there are various valuable works: the painting of the Pietà by Angelo Trevisani of the main altar, the painting of San Giacomo taken from the Martyrdom of Pompeo Batoni on the altar on the left and the Conversion of San Matteo by Paolo De Matteis on the altar on the right; a crucifix in carved cypress wood from the 1700s; two wooden carved angels made in Paris in 1781.
