Church of Carmelo Ferla
The Carmelo Church in Ferla, dedicated to Santa Maria del Carmine, is a small but valuable church in the late Baroque style.
It was built in 1789 next to the building that housed the old Carmelite convent.
The facade in tower, in squared ashlars of white cut stone, is divided into two architectural orders, the first Doric, the second Ionic. In the first order we find a large portal surmounted by a window with decorations and carvings. In the second order there is a bell loggia with three lights, closed laterally by two spiral volutes.
The interior of the church has a single nave. Particular attention has been paid to the structural elements: the wall columns, the arches and the lintels are all made of cut stone.
