Church of the Madonna delle Grazie in Ferla
The Church of the Madonna delle Grazie in Ferla is one of the sacred buildings of the city.
It was rebuilt following the earthquake of 1693, the old building stood on another site in the Scala or Mulino Nuovo district.
The nineteenth-century facade has a portal framed by pilasters with Ionic capitals, surmounted by a window with floral motifs. It is surmounted by a bell tower with two lights dating back to a later period than the construction.
The interior, with a single nave, is decorated with late Baroque stuccos. The high altar in painted stone, a work from 1882 by Concetto Sudano, is of great value.
Among the works kept inside the church, of particular interest is a statue of the Madonna and Child from the beginning of the century, made of finely moulded, plastered and painted.
