Church of the Guardian Angel in Francofonte
The church of the Guardian Angel in Francofonte, also known as the church of the Immaculate Conception, is one of the places of worship in the city and is of considerable importance during the religious events of Holy Week: it is the place from which the simulacrum of Our Lady of Sorrows emerges.< br>It was built in 1621, collapsed following the earthquake of 1693, and rebuilt in 1703.
The facade, between two Tuscan-style pilasters with gabled slopes, has a portal flanked by two semi-pillars supporting a projecting cornice.< a>On the left side stands the bell tower characterized by a quatrefoil window on the first order with volutes on the sides of the belfry.
