Piazza Dante in Francofonte
Piazza Dante in Francofonte, also known as Piazza Ville, and commonly called old villa, is one of the nerve centers of the city: it is overlooked by the main school building of Francofonte, several historic buildings and numerous commercial activities.
The square is located in the neighborhood called Quatri, which was originally a small village in its own right, located south of Francofonte, today completely incorporated into the city.
The square presents two small side gardens, while in the center stands the war memorial. In one of the two gardens there is a monument dedicated to Corporal Damiano Sebastiano Ville, an Alpine soldier who lost his life in the terrorist attack in Buji Golestan, Afghanistan, on 9 October 2010. The square is named after him.
