Piazza Regina Margherita in Marzamemi
The Piazza Regina Margherita is the center of the town of Marzamemi , also known as the square of the two churches due to the presence of two places of worship dedicated to San Francesco di Paola, protector of fishermen.
The square is surrounded by the ancient houses of the fishermen families. These houses, of Arab manufacture, have in common a rare example of an Arab courtyard located east of the square.
The houses today host bars, restaurants and tourist places of various kinds. The Palazzo del Principe di Villadorata also overlooks the square, connected to the ancient Tonnara on the back.
