Civic Museum of Noto
The Civic Museum of Noto was born from the need to preserve and preserve an important collection of medieval and post-medieval artifacts that preceded the earthquake of 11 January 1693, which destroyed the city of Noto Antica.
The museum exhibition is divided into two sections: the first, archaeological, groups together finds found in the excavations of the ancient site of Noto. The other, artistic, is in fact the Contemporary Art Gallery, created thanks to the donation of the works of the sculptor Giuseppe Pirrone, artistically recognized at national level. You can admire sculptures in the round, reliefs and medals produced in various materials ranging from terracotta to gold.
