Veneretta Mount
Monte Veneretta is the highest peak of the mountainous relief that starts from Giardini Naxos passing through Taormina , through Mount Tauro, up to overcoming Castelmola. The Monte is crossed by a barren but very scenic path, known as the Saracen path. On its way you will come across the ruins of the Cafè Monte Venere, an aristocratic symbol at the time of the Belle Epoque, when travelers passed by this restaurant while visiting the countryside of the Taormina hinterland. Many foreigners owned land in this area, including Lady Trevellyan , of the English royal crown. In particular, near Mount Venere, she bought a piece of land and built her country residence in which she wanted to be buried.
