Durazzesco Arch in Forza D'Agrò
The ancient Durazzesco Arch in Forza D'Agrò is an ancient monument located in the eastern part of the town. It stands in an elevated place and can be reached via a suggestive semicircular sandstone staircase. The arch leads onto Piazza della Triade, one of the most valuable places in Forza d'Agrò.
It was built in the 15th century in Catalan Gothic style.
The portal is made of sandstone, bricks and mortar, a material construction used in many homes in Forza. From an architectural point of view it is composed of three lowered circular arches and features rounded sandstone reliefs. In the area above the arch there are some mortar cusps.
