Church of San Sebastiano in Forza D'Agrò
The Church of San Sebastiano in Forza D'Agrò is an ancient religious building which today is in ruins.
The date of construction is not known but it is believed that its construction may date back to the 14th century. It is believed to have been built on the occasion of one of the many plagues that struck the area between the 12th and 16th centuries.
On 14 February 2024 a massive collapse affected the church of which only the apse remains where it is visible a fresco depicting Almighty God, totally deteriorated. The corner ends of the building, in sandstone, are valuable. The roof and floor have completely disappeared but a trap door is still visible which leads to a crypt which housed the burials of the inhabitants of the neighbourhood.
