Miano Palace in Forza D'Agrò
Palazzo Miano in Forza D'Agrò, today Palazzo Pizzolo, is an ancient stately building in Spanish style which stands on the main street of the town.
Built towards the beginning of the 17th century, it belonged to the Miano family, one of wealthiest in the country.
It has a simple façade, enriched, however, by a large balcony supported by four large and elegant sandstone shelves on which floral and geometric motifs are reproduced. Of particular value is the large entrance portal, built with overlapping sandstone blocks, in which the same geometric and floral motifs present on the shelves are reproduced. Worthy of note are the four windows that open along the street: the two lower ones are protected by valuable thick worked railings; the two upper ones have the architrave and the sill shaped and protruding from the façade, a rare example in Forza architecture. Detail that underlines the owners' desire to give magnificence to the building.
