Scifì
Scifì is a small village in the area of Forza D'Agrò located 5km from the Ionian coast. It stands on the right bank of the Agrò river, and faces the monument-monastery of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul of Casalvecchio Siculo, located on the left bank of the river itself.
It is of a small village born from peasant families who came from other municipalities in the second half of the 19th century. In this place recent archaeological excavations have brought to light remains from the Roman-Byzantine era dated between the 1st century BC. and the 5th century AD. Some hypotheses maintain that these remains may belong to the ancient monastery of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul of Agrò; in fact, it is known that the current one was rebuilt by the Normans in the 12th century on the opposite bank of the river from the original structure.
