Vulcanetto di Mojo
The Vulcanetto di Mojo , located in the Alcantara river park, is an eccentric crater of Etna, as it does not share its conduit but only the magma basin. It is currently considered an extinct crater.
From the top of the volcano you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the Etna volcano, the Alcantara River valley and the Nebrodi and Peloritani mountain ranges. Inside the crater there is a rich vegetation and varied fauna (rabbits, foxes, porcupines, buzzards).
It is possible to reach the volcano via the Vulcanetto di Mojo path, which can also be traveled by mountain bike.
At birth a popular legend is linked to the little volcano of Mojo.
