Church of Jesus and Mary in Savoca
The Church of Gesù and Maria in Savoca is an ancient building of worship now reduced to a state of ruin. Located on a hill, it is the only architectural testimony of the Brotherhood of Jesus and Mary in the city of Savoca.
The date of construction is not known but the church has sixteenth-century origins.
Only the perimeter walls remain of the sacred building, adorned inside with precious friezes.
The simple gabled façade features a valuable portal in stone surmounted by a large rectangular window.
The interior, with a single nave, was deprived of any sacred furnishings: the main altar was placed in the parish church of the Holy Family in Santa Teresa di Riva.
