The Palazzo Crisafulli was a large noble palace located near the City Gate. Today the palace has been entirely rebuilt.
The palace belonged to the Crisafulli family, a noble Sicilian family present in the city of Savoca already in the fifteenth century and related for centuries to the illustrious Trimarchi, Prestipino, Nicòtina, Trischitta, Salvadore, Cacòpardo and Scarcella families . Some members of the family practiced the profession of apothecary, others of notaries; in addition to this important palace, they owned vast land holdings on the hills and the marina, where the town of Santa Teresa di Riva stands today. A burial inside the Church of San Michele in Savoca testifies to the importance of this family.
