Church of San Francesco D'Assisi in Alcamo
The Church of San Francesco d'Assisi is a seventeenth-century style church of the city of Alcamo.
According to the historiographical tradition, the church was built between 1224 and 1226 by Blessed Angelo Tancredi. < br> The church has undergone many renovations in the course of its history, but the bell tower attached to the church and the portal are the parts that have remained unchanged compared to the original project.
The interior of the church has a single nave, with barrel vault, and with a side chapel dedicated to the Immaculate Conception and eight altars. The buildings adjacent to the church are the Franciscan cloister and the Oratory of the "Compagnia dell'Immacolata", founded in 1596.
