Palazzo De Ballis is considered the oldest and most valuable civil building in Alcamo.
It was built in the 15th century, probably in 1495 at the behest of the De Ballis family, nobles originally from Piacenza, based on a project by Tommaso and Pietro Oddo.< br>Of great artistic value is the quadrangular tower that dominates the building. It has a window with an architrave on the first floor, with small shelves and, on the second floor, a trifora inserted in a round arch. On the internal side that overlooks the courtyard there is a mullioned window. The tower is surrounded by merlons which rest on small niches which support pointed arches.
