Sanctuary of Sant'Anna in Erice
The Sanctuary of Sant'Anna di Erice is located on the hill linked to Mount Erice.
The construction of the sanctuary dates back to the early 1600s, but already about 60 years later we have news of a expansion to house a community of Discalced Augustinian friars who have never settled in this place due to difficulties that have arisen. Despite this, the devotion to this sanctuary has spread, even if over the centuries there have been periods of greater influx of pilgrims and times in which the sanctuary was almost abandoned.
Since 1992 the presence of a community of contemplative life of the Daughters of Saint Anne Perpetual Adorers has been constant in the sanctuary, which gives anyone the opportunity to experience a time of silence and prayer on any day of the year.
