Chapel of Santa Crescenzia in San Vito Lo Capo
The Chapel of Santa Crescenzia in San Vito Lo Capo , which boasts a great popular devotion, stands in a particularly suggestive place and is linked to the history of the town of San Vito by a legend.
The graceful square building was built in the thirteenth century in honor of the nurse of San Vito, Santa Crescenzia, of whom it is said that she died, precisely, in the place where the homonymous chapel stands today. The structure was built by the Arabs but boasts influences from various ethnic groups: we can in fact note elements that refer to the Gothic and Norman cultures. The chapel of Santa Crescenzia has always boasted a great devotion.
