The Grotta dei Cavalli , in Cala Mancina , is a cave of archaeological interest located in the territory of San Vito Lo Capo.
Inside the cave there are representations paintings in red dating back to the Eneolithic, the last period of the Neolithic. These cave paintings depict human figures, the sun, a stylized boat and various abstract and enigmatic signs. It is possible to reach the Grotta dei Cavalli, starting from the Lighthouse of San Vito Lo Capo, following the coast passing next to a bunker of the last world war, and finally following an easy path between the cliffs and the sea.
The surrounding area is rich in caves, many of which are of archaeological interest, such as: the Grotte dell 'Isulidda , under the homonymous tower, consisting of five caves in three of which are Upper Paleolithic engravings and drawings depicting deer have been found; the Grotta dei Ciaraveddi and the Grotta del Racchio , near the town of Macari, where many flints have been found.
