The Lake of Venus in San Vito Lo Capo is one of the most evocative stretches of the coast of the Golfo della Tonnara di San Vito Lo Capo , commonly referred to as Firriato. Imposing stacks surround a stretch of sea, creating a colorful and very suggestive lake at the foot of the mountain.
The Lake of Venus originated from an ancient landslide, the boulders that hundreds of years ago broke away from the mountain they reached the sea and arranged to form a circle. The body of water of Lake Venus, almost always calm thanks to the rocks that act as a barrier, is rich in flora and fauna. Snorkeling in this area is highly recommended.
