Arch of the Knight in Valderice
The Knight's Arch in Valderice, located along the road that once connected Erice and Custonaci near an ancient one, is a chapel used in the past to house the painting of the Madonna of Custonaci during its journey from Erice to Custonaci . These journeys are documented from 1568 until 1936. In this place the faithful and the porters refreshed themselves in the nearby drinker and refreshed themselves with the food offered by the local inhabitants.
The structure has a square plan open on each side with a large arch. The roof has a small dome supported by four sturdy pillars.
