Giglio Cave in Valderice
The Grotta del Giglio in Valderice is a natural cavity that was used during the Second World War as an anti-aircraft shelter.
Starting from Tuesday 15 June 1943, the inhabitants of the area, eleven families in all, to the sound of 'air raid alarm, they quickly left their homes and sought refuge inside the cave, capable of hosting up to forty people.
