Museum of the Sea and of the Mattanza in Bonagia
Museo del Mare e della Mattanza in Bonagia is located in the watchtower of the Tonnara di Bonagia, in the Valderice area.
The tonnara, dating back to the 16th century, was destroyed in 1624 by a band of pirates and renovated in 1626, it has a large internal courtyard typical of the structure of the ancient bagli.
The Fishing Museum preserves inside, utensils and tools that narrate the history of tuna fishing and a miniature tuna fishery in the sea, where the tuna ended up.
