Sanctuary of Maria SS. of Mercy in Valderice
The Sanctuary of Maria Santissima della Misericordia in Valderice is a place of worship visited by numerous faithful.
It was built in 1640 on the site where there was an aedicule with the image of the Madonna. The devotion for this image grew following a miraculous event which led to the healing of an elderly man from Erice known as Uncle Girolamo Verderame.
