Arancia di Ribera PDO has a spherical-ellipsoidal shape and is easily recognizable by its characteristic internal navel, more pronounced in the Brazilian and Washington Navel varieties. The peel, of an intense orange color, tends to become reddish towards the end of winter. The pulp is blond and sugary, with a particularly delicate consistency, which melts in the mouth leaving very little membrane residue.
