The traditional cannoli from Piana degli Albanesi has always been the typical dessert of local pastry shops and workshops.
Compared to the traditional Sicilian cannoli, that of Piana degli Albanesi has some variations: among the ingredients there is no granulated sugar and a modest quantity of honey has been introduced in its place; the flour has been replaced with that of ancient Sicilian grains; the chocolate is dark. The disciplinary of this traditional cannolo has also been recognized and today the cannolo of Piana degli Albanesi is part of the Territorial Food Products.
