The Riesi DOC appellation includes red, rosé and white wines produced from grapes grown on the rolling hills of the province of Caltanissetta. The vines in this production area receive solar irradiation, throughout the year, for a number of hours that has no equal in the temperate climate zone of the earth. The hot winds from the south are mitigated by the proximity of Mount Dissueri and the sea, not far away, exerts its beneficial influence on the quality of the grapes. All these factors contribute to giving a unique taste to this quality of wines for which the DOC designation has been assigned.
