Sant'Angelo di Brolo Salami PGI

S.Angelo di Brolo Salami PGI has several elements that make it unique and inimitable. The location of the production municipality, Sant’Angelo di Brolo, is very important, a town located in a valley where the sea breezes coming from the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea meet and the air of the Nebrodi mountains. This type of climate makes the seasoning of salami perfect. The cut of the meat carried out with a knife tip and a low percentage of fat about 20%, allow to obtain a balanced and typically traditional salami. The Sant’Angelo di Brolo salami has a very ancient history, already documented in the Arab-Norman era: in the 11th century the Normans introduced new uses in the Sicilian territory including pork, as opposed to the customs imposed by the Arab rulers.
