Church of the Carmine in Caltabellotta
The interior, with a single nave, has a barrel vault with geometric decorations and scenes from the "Holy Family". The nave ends with a raised presbytery by means of three steps. The presbytery area is separated from the nave by a triumphal arch supported by two large square section columns. The altar has a temple architecture of clear Greek inspiration.
Among the works kept in the temple, of particular value is the "Madonna delle Grazie" by Antonello Gagini, from 1534, placed on the main altar.
In the sacristy are kept: a valuable collection of sacred vestments dating back to the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, embroidered in gold corals and precious stones; a gold ray monstrance; a humeral bone, called "spadduzza di San Pellegrino" kept inside a tabernacle.
