State: CT - Area: Catania and Etna
Belpasso is a small and charming town located on the slopes of Mount Etna whose history has always been linked to the volcano: first destroyed in 1669 by the eruption of Etna and then in 1693 by the earthquake, the city was rebuilt according to a specific urban plan. Belpasso is in fact the chessboard of Etna: the chessboard arrangement of the houses along the perpendicular streets and the black of the lava stone are the distinctive elements of its fascinating historic center.
Belpasso is a place of pilgrimage due to the presence of the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Rocca.
Belpasso is also nature and fun.
