Town Hall in Gangi
The Town Hall in Gangi is a civil building in Venetian style which overlooks the main square of the village. The building is home to the Gangi Town Hall.
It was built during the 19th century. The building is accessed via a staircase that marks the beginning of via Salita Municipio.
The façade is divided into three orders by string course frames. Each order has single-lancet windows and, in the centre, protruding from the structure, is the civic tower with clock, whose battlements are repeated throughout the upper part of the building. The turret has a loggia at the bottom where the marble plaque engraved with the names of those killed in the First World War and a bronze statue of Victory are located. Above the loggia there is a marble shield with the Gangi logo, an aedicule with a bas-relief of the Assumption, co-patron of Gangi, and a clock.
The entrance portal at the palace, at the end of via Salita Municipio, bears, on the key of the arch, the date 1889 and a copy of the coat of arms of the main facade.
